Strategy and values
The overall goal of Learn for Life is to inspire adults to find the ways of upbringing and learning that contribute to fostering vital children and families. The task is resolved through cultural exchange and education with play and community as the central theme.
The Danish view on children and human nature
This is a presentation of the Danish view on children and human nature in a way that initiates reflection on the part of the participants. This occurs when participants newly evaluate their own approach to pedagogy and the quality of life based on an experience of what it means to make life worth living.
The values:
Imagination
Bildung/education
Active learning
Creativity
Community
The four development tracks
-
1. Courses of 2-12 weeks' duration
-
The courses are aimed at:
-
Kindergarten teachers and leaders
-
Parents with and without children
-
Social education students
-
-
2. Cultural activities and exchange
-
Parts of the HCA pedagogy are combined with culture and experience oriented activities aimed at parents and children, including:
Events and film and theater projects, which contribute to an appealing story of Hans Christian Andersen and Danish values as the core elements.
-
-
3. Learn for Life as collaborator
The effort is coordinated with new partners, incl. educational institutions, folk high schools, and research centers.
Additionally, we focus on strong strategic cooperation with culture and tourism operators.
-
-
4. Implementation in China/Asia
-
One of the tasks is to implement the training in China and other Asian countries. The means are Danish teachers, materials, and tools. The first steps in this direction have already been taken in the form of sending out Danish senior social educators to Chinese kindergartens.
