The children attend a Danish kindergarten while mom and dad are on course
From the beginning of January 2020 and for the next three months, Chinese parents and teachers will attend the folk high school course Life Education at Nordfyns Højskole. While the parents attend class and discuss morals, upbringing, and community conditions, four Chinese children will attend kindergarten.
Børnehuset Skoven
Børnehuset Skoven in Bogense has agreed to an experiment, which has, so far, exceeded well beyond expectations. According to team leader Anne-Lise Sievers, they have adapted well and are playing with their new Danish friends. The children’s parents are explaining how the freer environment and outdoor life are positively affecting their children.
Soon on film
This is not the first time that Børnehuset Skoven has meet Chinese children and parents. On several occasions the kindergarten has been the setting for tours for Chinese educators. In December 2018 the kindergarten was also the location for the film "YueYye is coming to Denmark" – a film about the cultural encounter and a growing friendship between a Danish and a Chinese girl who meet at Christmas on Funen and at the Chinese New Year in Zhengzhou.
