Watch and learn what Danes and Chinese think about ChatGPT

There was a lively dialogue between teachers, parents and young people from Denmark and China at this year's edition of the Danish-Chinese Education Forum (CDEF). Well-being is the overall theme every year, and this year we have a special focus on artificial intelligence and ChatGPT and what it means in a school context.

ChatGPT is difficult to access in China; on the other hand, there are several similar Chinese chatbots. Everyone at the Forum agreed that chatbots are here to stay. There was also broad agreement that artificial intelligence is an important tool that can be of great help to both teachers and students. An essential prerequisite is that Chatbots is used in a responsible and ethical way, and that we are well prepared and ensure that Chatbots serve us and not the other way around.

Despite language and cultural differences, the participants had an extensive debate – not least because the subject was debated from several points of view.

Since July, the forum has been streamed via several Chinese platforms, and the reactions have been many and primarily positive, as it is a topic that affects teachers, students and parents alike.
