Many course participants know about a variety of pedagogical theories. What we give them are tools that enable them to convert theory into practice.
We employ tools and methods that equip pedagogues, teachers, parents and leaders to bring out the best in children. The goal is that the children develop into becoming robust and empathetic adults. Learning based on experience makes a difference. Education needs to be felt in your own body. Thus, it is vital that the participants come to Denmark and experience both how we teach and how we perform pedagogical work. Moreover, we also learn something along the way when we look through the eyes of the course participants during activities, which we do not especially ponder on in our daily life.
Theori with a lot of practice
The training is a mixture of theory and drills, workshops, presentations, and visits to kindergartens, private individuals with families, institutions, attractions and REMIDA, which is our exposure of creativity and sustainability. The tools are costumes, drama, storytelling, and outdoor activities.
Challenges for body and soul
The participants are challenged in a variety of ways. They can choose between outdoor activities, music, and art. These are activities that are popular and atypical from the way foreign pedagogues and teachers usually approach learning. They stay and live at the folk high school in a daily-life routine, which helps them create close bonds with one another and with the other students at the school as well as the local population
The teachers
The teachers are dedicated experts in their own fields. They have years of background experience in pedagogy, learning, and culture exchange. Additionally, they have life experience and lots of great stories to tell.
